Sadly, this TV, like the LG QNED80 2023, isn't good for use in dark rooms, which is typical of most non-OLED LG TVs, as they have a low contrast ratio, and blacks look gray. It doesn't get very bright in SDR either, but it at least has good reflection So i can say that chg70 can produce accurate colors(not %100). CHG70 contrast is bad for a va panel but my other va monitor z271 has good contrast. Ips offers accurate colors, better viewing angles and color consistency, not better colors. CHG70 has best colors in the market. Its quantum dot va panel. My CHG70 has %137 sRGB %97 DCI P3 gamut volume. It has three HDMI 2.0 ports and a 60Hz panel, but this TV can output 1080p @ 120Hz and even 1440p @ 120Hz through resolution halving, with a wide VRR range to match. It's hard to notice the degradation in image quality of the resolution halving unless you're looking for it, making this one of the cheapest TVs capable of gaming at 120Hz.
For a TV though, VA panels can have very good colour reproduction, and again what I think is more important for a TV is the much better contrast they offer compared to IPS. If you're buying a large TV and need wide viewing angles I still wouldn't buy IPS in this day and age, I'd just go OLED provided burn-in is not a concern with your use. OLED

If you don't have the budget for it, go with IPS, it has way less issues in Freesnyc/GSYNC compatible mode. G7's VA is pretty decent. No ghosting, very accurate colors, close to zero backlight bleed and nice contrast when compared to IPS. Calibrating a turd monitor won't magically make it good. IPS panels cover a wider color space than VA panels. They also have better viewing angles which is important for color critical work (hence why larger VA panels are often curved). What's better on VA is the contrast, which is on average about 2-3 times higher than on IPS.

And this algorythm expects an RGB subpixel layout. If you just disable cleartype you get the same text clarity using a 27" 1440p BGR panel that you would get on a 27" 1440p RGB panel. The LG 32GN650-B/32GN63T-B and the LG 27GN850-B/27GN880-B are both good monitors overall, although they use different panel types with different advantages.
