Avisual inspection can only show any obvious major wear immediately before failure. Timing belts look fine until a tooth breaks off and engine timing is lost and engine damage results. I strongly suggest changing the timing belt, idler roller pulley, water pump, and tensioner at or before 120,000 miles, the factory recommended service interval.

Tomy surprise, after giving my car details to the advisor he said that my car is not due for a Cambelt change and that Audi recently changed the interval to 140,000

Hi- My 2015 Q5 has close to 85K miles. I took it in recently for oil change at the dealer.
